Our VoIP Service is reliant on a working and stable Broadband service and occasionally a Broadband service can have issues from time to time. The quickest and best resolution is to power off the VoIP Adapter and your Broadband Router for a minimum of 10 minutes and power them both back on again.

If your VoIP service is still having issues after this then please don’t hesitate to let us know and we will look into it.

A great alternative is to use our VoIP App on a mobile phone as an alternative, this is reliant on your Mobile signal in your area being reliable. Sadly we, have no control over that.

Yes, as long as the Landline Telephone number is live and working (even if with another provider’s VoIP service), then it can be ported across. We proactively work with the customer to inform of the expected date the Port is due to take place and again on the day to say the Port has taken place.

It takes between 7 & 21 days for a Number to port, in most cases it takes 7 days but there can be setbacks, delays and problems, so we ensure to set expectations properly.

Please refer to the Home VoIP Account Page for Residential prices.

Yes, this is often preferred by people who may be elderly or physically or mentally limited and need familiarity or have a larger button or louder than standard home phones.

We can program and provide a “VoIP Adapter” to make this possible. In most cases, it is common that there are multiple cordless DECT Handsets. The Master Cordless DECT handset plugs into the Main Telephone socket on the wall and the electric plug socket (for power), and each of the secondary Cordless Handsets plugs into the electric plug socket. On the day the Landline Telephone number ports across then unplug the Master Cordless DECT handset from the telephone socket on the wall and plug it into the VoIP Adapter and make an outgoing test call to see it is working.

The VoIP Adapter simply plugs into the router, mains and then the Handset plugs into the Adapter once the number has ported across. All cables are included.

Yes, all Routers are the same in terms of connectivity, it just needs to be a live and working socket. If a PC or Printer is plugged into the Router then so can a VOIP Phone.

No, a VoIP service is just like adding Netflix or Disney+ etc, it’s nothing to do with your internet service other than the fact it runs over it. It does not change your internet package nor notify your provider.

Yes, you can have a selection of new numbers and geographical area to choose from and take out a VoIP service with us straight away. This can be live and working via the VoIP App on your mobile phone within 24 hours.

It should be stated on the bill if there is a “Digital Voice” or “VoIP” service. Failing that, some other top tips are to see how the Home Phone Handset is connected.

1 – If plugged into a telephone socket on the wall then it is a traditional copper telephone line number, we can Port that Number to our VoIP platform.

2 – If plugged into the router then it is a VoIP Phone, we can Port that Number to our VoIP platform.

3 – If the Handsets are not plugged into anything, just the mains, then it is likely a WiFi phone by BT and is a VoIP service, we can Port that Number to our VoIP platform.

A couple of solutions:

1 – If the Landline Telephone Number in question is of importance, you could (and we don’t recommend this due to costs) request another Line and Broadband connection to be installed. When that 2nd line and broadband is installed, up live and working then we can then Port the desired Landline Telephone Number from the 1st line to our VoIP service. When a landline telephone number is Ported away from an FTTC connection, the existing telephone line will go dead, thus killing the Broadband too. Thus cancelling the 1st line altogether. This is expensive and a lot of inconvenience. We would suggest to consider 2 factors, How important is that particular Landline Number and can it be replaced with a new number (Option 3 below).

2 – Leave things as they are and when FTTP comes available in your area then take action (see next question for that process).

3 – If the existing Landline number is not overly used/promoted/known and FTTP is not available to you yet/at all (possible for remote areas of the UK), then you could get a new number provided by us (we can give you selection of numbers to choose from, and various different geographical areas you can select) and then start to promote that number. There is no extra charge for a new number.

We work proactively with our customers and the process would be to have FTTP broadband connection installed, live and working. We can then Port the desired Landline Telephone Number from the 1st line to our VoIP service. Thus cancelling the 1st line altogether. There will be some overlap of Broadband service but we want to avoid the customer having no broadband access if the FTTP install is delayed or there are any faults on setup. We take guidance from the customer on what they would like to do.

Yes, we can send you our special VoIP Software to install on your computer or laptop and providing you have a Mic and Speakers then you are good to chat.

Yes and no, this can be done via VoIP Software mentioned above or a VoIP specific phone. This works even if you use it abroad if you take your laptop away with you.

It can NOT be done using a traditional analogue Home phone with a VoIP Adapter.
